Chairman Suzuki Meets with Mr Darren Goff, Minister-Counsellor, Director of Trade and Investment, British Embassy

In August, Mr Darren Goff, Minister-Counsellor, Director of Trade and Investment, who had been responsible for Japanese investment in the UK for five years, took over from Mr Chris Heffer, former Minister-Counsellor, and met with Mr Yoshihisa Suzuki, Chairman of the British Market Council (“BMC”) on 31 August. It was pointed out that the BMC plays an important role in the good relationship between Japan and the UK, and opinions were exchanged on the future activities of the BMC etc., including topics of the entry into force of the UK-Japan EPA, the UK-Japan Business Partnership Seminar scheduled for this October, and expansion of BMC membership.
