Date:2026/05/15(Fri)
On 15 May 2026, 4th environmental seminar and luncheon reception were held at Barakura English Garden in the Tateshina Highlands, co-hosted by the British Market Council (BMC) and Barakura English Garden. Approximately 40 participants attended the event, including members of the British Market Council.

Prior to the seminar, participants enjoyed a guided tour of the English garden, followed by a networking luncheon.

The seminar commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Ninomiya, Executive Director of the British Market Council, and a welcome address by Mr. Yamada, CEO of Barakura English Garden. This was followed by a presentation by Mr. Ben Jones, Curator of the University of Oxford Botanic Garden, on “Endangered Species Recovery Activities Across Japan.” Mr. Yohei Suzuki, Consulting Partner at ERM Japan (a BMC member), then delivered a presentation on “Business and Natural Capital.” The final presentation was given by Kenichi Suganuma, a former Representative of the Government of Japan for Climate Change Negotiations, who spoke on “Recent Developments in COP and Climate Change Challenges.”

Blessed with fine weather, participants enjoyed a refreshing day amid the vibrant greenery of the Tateshina Highlands in May.
